This year Nobel laureate Ardem Patapoutian in physiology and medicine has discovered the PLEZ01 and PLEZ02 ion Channel proteins in responding to the touch proprioception in the regulation of mechanical pain, urination, respiration, blood pressure, and skeletal remodeling. His discovery of these ion channel proteins’ responding to the touch proprioception also elucidates the real mechanism of how acupuncture works in the body to regulate the relative homeostasis – Yin Yang balance.

From here, one can see the future medicine is to regulate the physiological functions of the body without or possibly with very minimum intervention of drugs in helping patients to regain the health of the body.
